New Art West Midlands 2017: Selectors announced

With only ten days left to apply, we are pleased to announce that the selectors for the New Art West Midlands 2017 exhibitions are: Jason E Bowman, Angela Kingston and Barbara Walker:

Jason E Bowman is an artist with a curatorial practice. He is Programme Leader of MFA, Valand Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden and lead researcher of Stretched (2015-18), an enquiry which interrogates the practices of artist-led cultures.

Angela Kingston is a freelance visual arts curator and writer. Recent projects include ‘3am: Wonder, Paranoia and the Restless Night’ at Bluecoat, Liverpool and tour 2013-14 and ‘The First Humans’, Pump House Gallery, London and tour 2015-2016. Her forthcoming publication ‘Ed Pien, Luminous Shadows’, McIntosh Gallery Ontario is published by Black Dog (2016).

Barbara Walker is an artist working predominantly in painting and drawing. Based in Birmingham her career spans a 20 year period and her work is held in private and public collections including the Arts Council Collection and Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.  Her recent solo exhibitions include ‘Shock and Awe’ at mac birmingham and forthcoming ‘Here and Now’ at The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, Coventry.
